  • * Both front outer c.v. axle boots slinging grease. * Both rear brake rotor contact patches rusted over. * Oil over full upon arrival. * Engine oil coolant very dirty. Recommend cooling system flush.
  • Technician performed battery testing and found it to be at 7 volts. Charged battery and performed draw test finding it to be at 64% capacity. Battery has failed testing procedures. Recommend replace battery as a starting point. Replaced battery and performed parasitic draw test. Found draw to be a continuous 68 milli-amps. This is a bit high as 55mA is the standard max. Found several modules required long lengths of time to go to sleep. Vehicle has an aftermarket remote start installed. Remote starts are typically a root cause for electrical draw. Recommend remove remote start as a starting point.

  • Technician hooked up computer scanner/diagnostic equipment and performed system scan resulting in code; C0196-00 Yaw rate circuit. C0561 – System disabled. P0011-00 Camshaft position system performance. Technician cleared codes and test drove vehicle. Watched data pids for camshaft actuation vs desired. Readings are within specs. Tested power, ground , and resistance at sensor and found them all to be where expected. Technician found oil quality to be very thin. Further research has indicated that if the engine oil is too thin it will cause improper actuation of camshaft actuator. Sticker says oil change was due 6,950 miles ago and is a .5 quart low. Camshaft code returned and almost immediately the abs system disabled code returned. Recommend change oil and retest system. Technician performed oil service finding oil pressure has come up 3psi. Cleared codes. Test drove vehicle 18 miles. No codes have returned. Customer has been advised if symptoms return further diagnosis will be needed which will require some disassembly.
  • Changed engine oil and filter. Checked fluid levels and tire pressures. Inspected belts and hoses. Lubricated chassis (where applicable).
